About Ken

Ken has been in the financial industry for over 25 years. He obtained his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation in 1994 and his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation in 2004, both from The American College in Byrn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Ken has an undergraduate degree in Business from the University of Oregon and a Masters of Divinity from Luther Theological Seminary. In 2003, Ken founded LifePlan and has continued to develop his personal approach to financial planning as an investment advisor.

Ken has been trained as Registered Life Planner from The Kinder Institute of Life Planning. He has owned his own tax practice and has served as a senior director of planned giving for The American Heart Association. Ken has been quoted in news outlets for his expertise in retirement planning. Ken’s diverse experience truly brings a holistic planning approach with clients. Outside the office, you’ll find Ken spending time with his wife of 33 years, Kim, their children, and their three grandchildren, Henry, Nora, and Oliver!

About Alex

Alex joined his Father in the business in 2012 and brings his unique background to his work with Clients. He received a Bachelor of Science degree with a dual major in Mechanical Engineering and Trumpet Performance from Iowa State University of Science and Technology. He was a 2009 Corps Member for Teach For America, a non-profit organization that places teachers in low income areas across the nation, in which he served as a secondary mathematics teacher in rural North Carolina. In 2011, he was a Sue Lehman Excellence In Teaching National Semi Finalist, awarded to 12 teachers out of over 4,000 nationally, for his outstanding work as a classroom teacher.

Alex is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNING™ professional and along with Ken, serves as an investment advisor for clients at LifePlan. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association and continues to leverage his experience as a teacher by developing and leading financial educational workshops and presentations to clients and the public. Alex designed LifePlan’s proprietary financial planning software used with clients and has been interviewed and quoted in news outlets for his expertise in retirement planning. Outside of the office, Alex enjoys spending time with his wife, Lauren, daughter, Nora, and continuing to play and teach the trumpet.
